16- year old Barron Mamiya could be the next heir to the Pipeline throne
Surf News Network, 21 April, 2016 – Some professional surfers are groomed from birth, while others truly have to earn it. Barron Mamiya, born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu, was never handed anything. He borrowed boards and gear, paddling out at the famous Pipeline at age 9.
Today at age 16, he’s one of the best surfers not only on the North Shore, but in the world. His effortless surfing in waves of consequence at such a young age has many touting him as the next heir to the Pipeline throne.
