BELLS BEACH, Victoria/Australia (Sunday, April 5, 2015) – The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach has been called ON for the day. Action will begin with Men’s Round 2 at 7:05 a.m. followed by Women’s Round 2 and the world’s best will battle to avoid elimination.

“It’s Easter Sunday and there’s some really great waves out there so I’m pleased to say we are on,” said WSL Commissioner, Kieren Perrow. “We’ll start with Men’s Round 2 followed by Women’s Round 2 and we have an exciting day of competition ahead of us.”

Mick Fanning (AUS) will take on trials winner Joe Van Dijk (AUS) in the day’s opening heat whileSilvana Lima (BRA) will face his sister, Nikki Van Dijk (AUS), in women’s Heat 2.

Surfline, official forecasters for the World Surf League, are calling for:

The SW groundswell that was picking up on Saturday will fill in further for Sunday, with further reinforcements arriving through Monday.  Local wind will also improve for Sun/Mon. A larger mix of SW ground and windswell will build on Tuesday, along with increased and strong onshore SW/SSW wind. The SSW windswell will trend down on Wednesday as new SW groundswell picks up, although wind remains fairly breezy onshore. Thursday will see all swells back down through the day, with onshore wind also easing.
