Aloha,

Here are some highlights of the 2nd day of the HSA, Hawaii Surfing Association State Championships. Surf was 2 to very occ 4, a bit windy midday but fun when it came in. Kids were ripping the lefts in hopes of getting a  “State Champion” title and an invitation to the Nationals at San Clemente in California. The event continues until Saturday.  Sponsors include Banzai Bowls, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Rockstar Energy Drink, Sun Bum & Quiksilver.

The hotly contested Junior division starts 7am Friday. Hope you can join us for the action at Magic Island, Ala Moana Bowls surf break.
Below is EWE Wong, (yellow) Oahu… first turn of a  ten point ride in the final, she ended up in third, she did not find a good back up. Two waves are scored in total and 15 minute heat times for all heats.

Why is there a surf competition for kids during the week when they should be in school? Can’t they do it on the weekend?
