Tuhiti Haumani (28 years old) is one of Tahiti’s bright surfing stars. Tuhiti is known for his expertise in surfing Tahiti’s most famous wave – Teahupoo! Teahupoo is one of the heaviest waves on the planet and Tuhiti rides these waves with style and grace.On Monday, February 2, 2015 Tuhiti suffered a horrific accident on the North Shore of Oahu. Tuhiti suffered a head injury in which he hit his head on his surfboard which knocked him unconscious. Thanks to the efforts of fellow surfers, North Shore Lifeguards, First Responders, Fire Fighters, Hospital nurses and doctors they were able to help revive him!

Tuhiti is currently in Straub Clinic Hospital in Honolulu in which he is undergoing various treatments, exams and tests. There have been enormous amounts of support from friends, family and extended ohana sending prayers, good vibes and love for the Haumani family.

At this time Tuhiti’s bills have been soaring due to the severtity of his injury and the complex procedures that lay ahead. Tuhiti’s condition has been improving from day to day but there is a long road ahead.
