GAME ON: WSL PURE Paddle Out for International Surfing Day

“It’s real simple, stop trashing waves…” Sal Masekela

WSL PURE called on surfers around the world to hold paddle outs showing their commitment to #StopTrashingWaves and protect the ocean on International Surfing Day.

PURE partnered with Surfrider Foundation, the founders of International Surfing Day, to call ocean lovers to action.

In sum, there were more than 75 paddle outs in 30 different countries from New Zealand to Newport Beach, featuring surfers from the WCT, Big Wave, and Longboard tours as well as many other icons of the sport.

Paddle outs took place in: Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Cayman Islands, Chile, El Salvador, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Maldives, Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Tahiti, United States, Uruguay, and Vietnam.
