5 Signs You’re Not Flexible Enough For Surfing

Flexibility for surfing might only be important when you consider it from a ‘dynamic access to range of motion’ point of view.

When I coach surfing, I see many students who are hindered by a lack of range of motion, a general lack of mobility and a low-grade stability in certain areas of the body.

Without these fundamental building blocks providing a sound groundwork for people to use in their surfing, progression can be frustrating and slow.

Recently I asked my good friend Nic Laidlaw, surfer and movement coach, to write a program that would help students across a broad range of capabilities reclaim their mobility, stability and injury-proof-ness.

That program is now live on The Surfer’s Roadmap – https://bit.ly/tsrflowseries

Are you that surfer who calmly watches the waves as you take time to fully prepare your body for the upcoming intensity?

Or are you, like me, that frother who ditches his board against the sand, rips open the leggy and barely even thinks about warming up before hitting the line up?

Maybe there’s a reason I’ve been injured a bit in the last cutla’ years. Recently, I’ve been trying to take my pre-hab and body prep a lot more seriously because, if it’s something I ask my students to do, then it’s something I need to be willing to do.

I see many clients who are being held back significantly by their lack of mobility, stability and confidence in their bodies, so I asked my good friend Nic Laidlaw, surfer and movement coach, to write a program for me.

That program is called The Surf Movement Flow Series; it’s a follow-along class-style series designed to improve your surf physicality beyond reach and I can’t wait for you to join us in it here https://bit.ly/tsrflowseries
