Maui paddler Connor Baxter breaks own world record at M2O

A year after the Ka’iwi Channel delivered a thrashing to each paddler in the 2013 race, today’s waters surprised an international field of top paddleboarders by delivering fast conditions. The result produced new records and a host of new champions at the 18th annual Molokai-2-Oahu Paddleboard World Championships (M2O).

Carissa Moore inducted into the Surfer's Hall of Fame

In the middle of an exciting world title chase, 2014 Surfers’ Hall of Fame inductee Carissa Moore will have a special ceremony held in her honor on Friday, July 25 at 10 a.m.  The tentative schedule for the Vans U.S. Open of Surfing, an ASP Women’s World Tour event, shows Carissa paddling out for a heat at the time she would be inducted, hence the “early” ceremony one week prior to the more traditional event.  Bob Hurley, founder of Hurley, will be presenting the Surfers’ Hall of Fame Trophy to Carissa Moore and speaking at the July 25 ceremony.

We have a solid SSW for the 15TH ANNUAL REDWINGS MEMORIAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF HANDBOARDING AND PAEPO BOARDING

It's a one of a kind event at a one of a kind venue: Point Panic off Kewalo basin!

Based on the SNN forecasted conditions for this Saturday and Sunday (4' solid Saturday from the SSW with 14 seconds), the Meet Committee has decided to go to RED ALERT for this weekend. This means that the events are ON STANDY for this week...end. We will make a final call by Wednesday afternoon, but conditions look very promising. If we run, we will begin beach entries around 6:30 and will have the first heat in the water by 8:00 at the very latest. Please help pass the word, and we hope to see you there...Aloha, REDWINGS Memorial Events Committee

Whatever you can do...Thank You.

David Kalani Foster was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer in November 2013. Due to the advancement of his condition he has not undergone any treatment and Doctor’s predicted he will have no more than a year. Well it’s been seven months and he is still here with us. With his faith in God Kalani remains positive and strong and has said “it’s all in God’s hand, but I will do my best to have faith and remain positive; miracles do happen” ...
