Sarah Fang and her Honolulu Museum of Art’s Doris Duke Theatre staff were wonderful hosts for opening night of the 2025 16th Annual Honolulu Surf Film Festival which brought together friends and fans of surf photographer/cinematographer Larry Haynes.

Larry passed away on February 9, 2023 while standup paddling on the North Shore.

The sold out crowd ate a wonderful buffet dinner followed by Larry’s film: Fluid Combustion 3: Live It.

A post film discussion of Larry memories featured Larry’s surf photographer friends Derek Hoffman, Brian Bielmann, Dave Homcy, and Hank Fotos.
