The biggest group wave ever ridden?

You’d have to ask Brian Keaulana but this is for sure ‘one’ of the biggest. I heard through the grapevine that Brian and his crew had some 18′ Makaha Point waves. In fact, on one heavy one (and they’re all heavy at this size) Brian, who was steering as usual, went over the handle bars on a massive group bail out. Unreal. These guys are pushing it. Just because its a ‘fun vibe” Sup Squash doesn’t mean it aint serious and death defying. Esp with 5-7 guys with sharp paddles packed on a fast surf vehicle.

Seven surfers team up to paddle a 17-foot “Supsquatch” board into a set wave at Makaha, Hawaii on February 14, 2015. Surfers aboard include Jamie O’Brien, Kalani Chapman, Kaikea Elias, Scotty Clelland, Sean McInerney, Brad Domke and Brian Emory (a.k.a Team Grom). Video by Issac Sokol. An entry in the Billabong Ride of the Year category of the 2015 XXL Big Wave Awards. For more information see www.WorldSurfLeague.com/XXL.
