There goes the neighborhood....

A company affiliated with Nick Woodman, founder and CEO of extreme-sports camera maker GoPro Inc., has purchased two properties on Hawaii's famed North Shore of Oahu, including a vacant lot that sold for a record $8.5 million.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser report s that, according to public records and sources familiar with the transaction, Woodman's company bought a 31,000-square-foot oceanfront lot for $8.5 million and an adjacent 66-year-old house in poor condition for $925,000 along Ke Nui Road fronting the Rocky Point surf break. The newspaper reports the buyer's agent,Lora "Bitsy" Healey, whose son is big-wave surfer Mark Healey, declined to reveal her client's identity.

GoPro, which is based in San Mateo, Calif., last week filed plans to raise up to $100 million in an initial pubic offering. Woodman's family is the largest shareholder in the company, with 49 percent, according to the prospectus.
