Teahupoo has been going off all is the recap from the last 4 days of fury all in one convenient location

As you read this, Teahupoo is big and perfect, it has been most of this week and will continue for a couple more weeks (yes, you heard right!). Below we'll be bringing you the latest photos, videos and quotes coming out of Tahiti.

If you’re sick of seeing giant Tahitian barrels and absolutely brutal wipeouts we can understand. But the swell keeps pumping at the End Of The Road and Brian Bielmann is still firing away from the channel so we ain’t stopping until a) the swell fades away b) Brian falls off the boat and into the drink c) There aren’t any more able bodied surfers to ride the waves. If  anything, option c seems to be the most likely.

While Wednesday was definitely a bit smaller than the previous two days, there were still tow-in sized waves coming through, and the carnage continued. Reef McIntosh took the worst of it Wednesday, busting a few ribs and popping his eardrum. I texted him this morning and got this response, “Ribs are sooooo painful!” Get well soon pal.

As for today, Kohl Christenson reported from the channel a few hours ago the following, “There are four tow teams out the back and 15-20 guys paddling. Good vibe though. Everybody is pretty relaxed at this point. Too many injuries.” Stay safe bros!

DAY 1

This is one hell of a swell. Normally in the South Pacific a swell will peak at a certain time and slowly fade away as the energy heads toward Mainland Mexico, Hawaii, and the West Coast of the States.

But not this bad boy.

The energy in the water yesterday in Tahiti was every bit as strong as the day before and guys (and a few gals) were once again getting the rides of their lives at Teahupo‘o.

 DAY 2

DAY 3

Koa Rothman and Raimana Van Bastolaer steal the show on the biggest day of the year at Teahupo‘o. Some crazy wipeouts and paddle in surfing here to go with the heart stopping tow in action from the world’s best big wave surfers.
