Quiksilver Pro France -- Day 3 Highlights
Surf News- - The Quiksilver Pro France completed the final three heats of Round 1 this morning in shifting three-to-five foot barrels at La Graviere before calling competition off for the day. The event went on hold following Round 1 Sunday morning in hopes that conditions may once again become favorable with the rising tide.
Sunday's action then moved right into Round 2 of the King of the Groms World Final where the world’s best 16 and under battled in what was for them double overhead thumping beachbreak barrels. Standouts included Quiksilver team riders Mikey Wright, Jack Robinson, and Leo Fioravanti. Ultimately the call was made to take the rest of the day off as onshore winds progressively got worse.
Contest director Miky Picon will reconvene Monday morning at 8am to assess conditions for a possible 8:30am start. When competition resumes, up first will be current Joel Parkinson up against wildcard Quiksilver rider Wiggolly Dantas in the opening heat of Round 2.
