Professional Surfer Dave Rastovich is on a mission to protect dolphins, whales and the ocean they all share in the epic documentary Minds in the Water which will be making it's New York debut at SMASH FEST 1 on Friday, July 26th at 10:30 PM at Villain.
Filmmaker Justin Krumb follows Rastovich as he embarks on an epic journey around the globe on a personal mission to help stop the worldwide commercial slaughter of dolphins and whales. The film captures a moment in a person's life when apathy is no longer an option.
Featuring Dave Rastovich, Howie Cooke, Hannah Fraser, Chris De Moro, Isabel Lucas, Will Conner, Hilton Dawe with special appearances by Hayden Panettiere, Ash Grunwald, Mati Waiya, Joel Parkinson, Louie Psihoyos, Jack Johnson, Kelly Slater, Paul Watson, Xavier Rudd.
The film has a killer soundtrack featuring music by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack Johnson, Xavier Rudd, Ash Grundwald, Dand of Frequencies, Allendig, Will Conner, Valley's and Tim Flood.
Minds in The Water will screen at SMASH FEST 1 on Friday, July 26th at 10:30 PM at Villain, 50 North 3rd St, Brooklyn New York. SMASH FEST 1 is a month-long series of surf film and art events that will span the New York area from Brooklyn, to Rockaway Beach, to Long Beach and Montauk. SMASH FEST 1 is the first profit sharing surf film festival for independent filmmakers.
SMASH FEST 1 kicks off July 13th at The Long Beach Public Library and will run in Brooklyn at Villain on July 25th and 26th. SMASH FEST 1 will then tour through the Rockaway Beach Surf Club on July 27th and will finish up at Sole East in Montauk on July 28th.
