Red Bull has put together a little look-back at Carissa Moore's 2011 title campaign, and here's episode 1.

As supplemental viewing material Janos Palko has also included cool clip of Carissa doing some step offs somewhere south of the boarder with Red Bull coach Shane Beschen.

Just over half a century ago...Philip Edwards became the first surfer to ride real Banzai Pipeline, in Hawaii, back in 1961. Phil, also known as "The Guayule Kid", was born on the 10th June 1938, in Long Beach, California.

Before completing 10 year of age, Phil Edwards was already feeling the attractionof water, ocean and waves. In those days, California was the Mecca of international surfing. The US West Coast had everything for everyone. Waves of all types, a vivid surf culture and an emerging surf industry.

In Dana Point, California, surfers tried to impress spectators with serious wave riding stunts at the famous surf break of Killer Dana, a spot for experienced watermen. Killer Dana was "the" surf spot where you might became the most influential surfer of all time, in a matter of day.

We had some fun days in January on here on Oahu, Hawaii. Feels like when waves were big, we had contests... so mostly fun size waves on this free surf sessions webisode.

a new quiver of Eric Arakawa boards in tow and ended up clinching the 2011 ASP World Junior Title at the Billabong
World Junior Championships. HIC Brand Manager, Mitch McEwen, said "We couldn't be more stoked to have Leila
on the team - and then right away she wins the World Junior Title. Unbelievable!"

Is this a preview of the 2012 end of the world? The supposed apocalypse is less than 12 months away. This video, presenting 'the end' through the eyes of surfers, has gone viral.

'Apocalypse Later, Surf Now,' is making the rounds on the web. 'If the world came to an end, where would you be? Better be #SURFING!' tweeted one surfer, 'Stunning take on how the world will end,' commented another.

With an eerie soundtrack, the video was shot with a GoPro camera. The creator, 'keef70' had the original video and then sprinkled it with visuals of the apocalypse via Maya, Mocha and After Effects.
