Shane Dorian drops in on a 25' bomb and gets barrelled to boot! Epic Jaws Swell Launches early for Hawaii's season and delivers goods for the Billabong XXL Big Wave Awards. Shane has more entries than most other Big Wave Warriors and is likely to claim more Awards at the end of the season. The long awaited winter big wave surfing season struck the North Pacific in ferocious fashion with a spectacular opening day of waves Tuesday 10.9.12 at Jaws (Peahi), on the north coast of Maui, resulting in a flood of entries into the Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards.Check the video.

The Vans Triple Crown of Surfing hydrated by vitaminwater celebrates its 30th anniversary this year with $1Million in prize money. With 11-time world champion Kelly Slater (Florida)  signed on for the 3-event series, he's up against defending champion John John Florence (Hawaii). Slater last won the title in 1998. Now add Sunny Garcia to the mix and it's game on! This year, there will be a one-time $100,000 winner-takes-all cash bonus for the Triple Crown champion. The largest global broadcast of professional surfing in history will take the Vans Triple Crown into more than 200 million homes worldwide. 

Day 2 of the Oakley World Pro Junior Championship in Bali, Indonesia, took place in the waves of Canggu.  With head high to a little overhead waves, and near perfect conditions, these up and comers, made the most of their time in the water, and showed the world why they are forces in the surf world.  The Day 2 highlight video is of the girls rounds.  Check it out.

SUPERTUBOS - Tuesday, October 9, 2012 – The world’s best surfers have arrived to the sleepy, fishing hamlet of Peniche for Stop No. 8 of 10 on the 2012 ASP World Championship Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Portugal, held from October 10 – 21, 2012 at the infamous sand-bottom barrels of Supertubos.
