Sea Hawaii held it's Pipeline Women's 1 star QS and 2 star Pro Jr VIDEO HI LITES

What an action packed 2 days! Sea Hawaii held it's Pipeline Women's 1 star QS and 2 star Pro Jr event on one day and North Shore Surfshop held its Men's Pipeline 2 star Pro Jr event the next day. The swell direction was little weird so the actual event was held at Gums instead of Pipe. Due to a storm we had water was brown and waves were choppy at times but over all, they scored some great waves. Enjoy the video! Sponsored by

"For the last couple of months, National Parks and Wildlife have had the gates shut to the entrance to the road that leads to the carpark above Ours due to heavy rains washing out the unsealed road," photographer Billy Morris explained. "Half of Australia is underwater right now with this La Nina pattern." "Word got out that Kelly was in town and would be surfing Ours," Morris continued. "Although it never really eventuated until the afternoon -- when conditions finally improved and the wind swung offshore."



Conner Coffin Wins ASP 2-Star NorthShore Surf Shop Pro Junior at Pipeline

BANZAI PIPELINE, Oahu/Hawaii (Saturday, March 10, 2012) – Conner Coffin (USA), 18, has won the inaugural Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 2-Star NorthShore Surf Shop Pipe Pro Junior, besting a talented field of top junior surfers from Hawaii, South Africa, Japan and Europe in tricky overhead surf. The first ever ASP Pro Junior event at Pipeline was an official ASP 2-Star rated event held over one day during the two week holding period of the SeaHawaii Women’s Pro at Pipeline.

Kanoa Igarashi Wins ASP 1-Star DNA Energy Pro Junior

NEW SMYRNA BEACH INLET, Florida (Sunday, March 11, 2012) – Kanoa Igarashi (Huntington Beach, CA) has won his first ASP event, taking out the ASP 1-Star DNA Energy Pro Junior presented by Western Atlantic Surf in challenging three-to-four foot storm surf at New Smyrna Beach Inlet in Florida over fellow finalists Daniel Glenn (New Smyrna Beach, FL), Evan Thompson (Jacksonville, FL) and Ryan Croteau (Newport Beach, CA).

Igarashi put on an iron-man performance at the DNA Energy Pro Junior, marching from Round 1 to the final despite the challenging conditions to pick up his first ASP victory. The young Californian was a standout throughout the event’s entirety, winning five out of six heats including his commanding presentation in the final.

NEWCASTLE, NSW/Australia (Monday, March 12, 2012) – Surfest’s headlining events the ASP 6-Star Burton Toyota Pro and the ASP 6-Star Hunter Ports Women’s Classic launched in style today at Merewether beach, Newcastle. A press conference featuring a crop of the world’s best surfers kicked off proceedings as the opening Rounds of the men’s and women’s competition got underway in wedgy three foot (1.5 meter) peaks. Taj Burrow (AUS), current No. 1 on the ASP World Championship Tour, after taking out the opening event on the Gold Coast this month, is thrilled to be back in Newcastle to compete for the Mark Richard trophy.

NEWCASTLE, NSW/Australia (Sunday, March 11, 2012) – This week Merewether beach, Newcastle set the stage for one of the most exciting Australian Pro Junior combined Men’s and Women’s events in recent history – the 2012 CHIKO Pro Junior. With epic surf, outstanding performances throughout all four days of competition, the event concluded today in clean three foot (1.5 meter) wedgy peaks with Jesse Mendes (BRA) and Bianca Buitendag (ZAF) claiming the prestigious event crowns.

The event is one day featuring 40 competitors from hawaii ,usa ,japan,zaf,and europe ! The jr surfers of Hawaii have not been getting the jr events they need to compete in as stepping stones into the pro ranks .Hawaii was the only region in the world with no junior events the last 2 years. Liam Mcnamara and north shore surf shop is pushing hard to support hawaiis future stars by committing to having a full jr tour in hawaii for boys and girls!
