here's the letter to your council person.

Dear Councilman_________________ ,

I understand Bill 11 CD1 is coming up for a final vote in the City Council on July 12.

While I agree that commercial activity in Kailua Beach Park needs to be controlled, to ban it completely is an extreme over-reaction to an issue in Kailua, but it’s not such a large problem that it warrants such an extreme measure. 

Some people resent tour busses coming into Kailua Beach Park and kayaks rolling through the park on dollies. This is not a good reason to ban kayak deliveries to the canal area, magicians at birthday parties, Bounce Houses, clowns, Yoga classes, or young mom’s doing exercise classes with their infants in strollers.....

Also, Bill 11 will not change the number of kayaks in the park, it will just send ALL the kayakers to the business across the street from the park, while forcing 3 other companies out of business!!! This just isn’t right.

Please vote no on Bill 11 and then, if necessary create another bill that will regulate the park in a reasonable manner.
